MortarLife is an additive used with Portland Cement/Lime Mortars and propriety mortar and masonry cements to extend the working time of to both plant-manufactured and jobsite mixed mortars. In addition to retarding the set time of mortar, MortarLife enhances the workability of mortar. MortarLife is particularly effective in warm weather, extending board life for several hours thus reducing mortar waste and the need for retempering. MortarLife complies with the current edition of CSA Standard A179.  Sold by the jug.  Size: 4L.

Addition Rate (@ 21C)

Add 50ml of MasonLife per 30kg of combined cement and lime for conventional mortar, or 25ml per 30kg of Masonry Cement/Mortar Cement.

Temperature, humidity, and other factors will affect the addition rate of Mason Life. Trial mixes are recommended.

Mixing

Add 1/3 of sand, 100% of the cementious materials, and sufficient water to produce a slurry. Add MortarLife in the recommended field-tested dosage. Add remaining sand and then water to the desired consistency. Mix for 3 to 5 minutes.

Minimum temperature for application is 1 C. Protect container from direct sunlight. Keep from freezing.
