Glass Block Mortar
Mapei White Preblended mortar for glass block. Glass-Block Mortar is a premixed blend of Portland cement, sand and chemicals specifically designed for glass-block installation. This white mortar can be used for both setting and grouting of the block. Sold by the bag.
Recommended Substrates
- Fully cured concrete (at least 28 days old)
- Cement block and brick surfaces
- Cement mortars and leveling coats
- Cement backer units (CBUs) per the manufacturer's recommendations
- Properly prepared cement terrazzo
Technical Notes
- Do not install at temperatures below 50°F (10°C) or above 100°F (38°C).
- Do not use over hardwood flooring, presswood, particleboard, chipboard, oriented strand board (OSB), Masonite, Lauan plywood, pressure-treated or oil-treated plywood, or similar dimensionally unstable materials.
- Do not use to install glass tiles. Instead, use MAPEIs Kerabond/Keralastic or Granirapid system in white only.
- Do not use as a thick-bed mortar, concrete repair mortar, concrete patching material or skim-coating compound, or to level subfloors.
